Growing up in a musical household, Sarah had no hope… music was in the blood. She started performing at a young age with Opera Australia and participated in the large touring musicals like The Sound Of Music. She then went on to study a Bachelor of Musical Theatre at Federation University Ballarat. After graduating, Sarah toured Australia with various stage and screen projects, working in some of the oldest theatres in the country.

During Covid, the end of touring gave opportunity to reassess a career that complemented her home life and with that.. she found song writing. This new chapter opened a whole new career path working in the music industry. Sarah is now a producer at ABC Radio and a freelance entertainment booker. She also has her own band, THE HOT LEMONS. Outlet studios was born out of the need for Sarah and other Ballarat Musicians to have a place to rehearse. Somewhere accessible, affordable and purpose built. Outlet Studios is all those things!

Zerene Jaadwa (They/Them) is a proud, Queer Wutyubaluk Person.

Zerene is Co-Founder of OUTLET Studio Ballaarat, Established in 2023 on Wada Wurrung Country.

Zerene is a Musician, Actor, Activist, Sister, Aunty, Partner, Friend, Business Owner, as well as Traditional Owner.

Zerene has been living and working on Wada Wurrung Country in Ballaarat for many years, having an active presence in the arts scene.

Zerene is a graduate of Federation University Arts Academy, having graduated in 2017. During that time Zerene worked at Sovereign Hill. Zerene and Sarah, also a graduate of Federation University Arts Academy, met during their time there and quickly became friends and realised they both had the same goals and passions of wanting to create a space in Ballaarat that could be accessed and used by the broader community.

Zerene has always believed that Ballaarat is a Regional City with a thriving arts scene but has had a lack of spaces for creatives to play, explore and make.

With Zerene and Sarah’s Passion for the Arts, creating inclusive spaces and making sure artists aren’t out of pocket, this is where OUTLET was born.
